Everyone that realizes that job security is an illusion that endangers their future comes looking for a business they could depend on. Their hopes and energy are high searching for that perfect business only to find out that their new found field does not turn out what they expected.
It’s harder than they thought, not as profitable as they envisioned, not as fast as they planned and not as rosy as they imagined it to be.
Could it be that business is not for everyone?
Business is not for everyone…but for everyone who thinks and acts as a business owner. Most people is trying to be a business owner running their franchise or studying their chosen area such as real estate, food carts, direct selling etc. But the title “business owner” easily gets in their heads and forgets all the hard work needed to make their business successful. They venture to business thinking that this field requires lesser work than their job. Giving less time, thought and energy but expecting a profitable outcome. They are set to make a successful business but they are not set to do what a real business owner does.
How do you work as a real business owner?
Put everything on it. Give your best time, best effort and best thoughts. Not your extra time, extra effort and extra thoughts. Don’t just sit down when your business does not have significant activities in a day. Don’t stop thinking of ways how to build and run your business. Don’t rest a single day until your business is productive. Don’t sleep without making a plan for tomorrow.
Most starting entrepreneurs only have very little time after their office work but best time does not necessarily mean by the numbers. Quality is important than quantity. If you could concentrate your energy in as much as 2 hours or more a day and come out with a productive result, this could mean a lot in really running your business.
Take time to learn and change your habits and align them to a real business attitude. Employees think that even if they don’t work they still get paid. Don’t be like that. Business owners think that they have to work hard to get great benefits. They work hard on their business because they know that this can give more security to them than what job can in the long run.
The speed at which you can earn and be successful does not depend on the business but on how fast you can change your habits, from employees’ habits to business owners’ habits.
